Moorecroft Park, Nanoose Bay, BC

Today’s walk in Moorecroft Park was made more interesting by the sight of numerous huge trees that had been blown down by a recent wind storm. The staff of the regional park had got to work quickly to cut and clear the fallen lumber, but the trails were closed for a couple of weeks while they ensured visitors would be safe.

We also saw the lovely views of Nanoose Bay and the nearby islands. No orcas showed up to have their pictures taken, but we hope maybe they’ll visit us next time.

The most exciting moment of the morning came when we first heard then saw two bald eagles! What a treat!
