The joy of Englishman River Falls Park never ends, and today it became even more enjoyable because a friend introduced me to the Milky Way Trail. I didn’t even know it existed! It is a multi-use trail but in the hour that we were there we saw only one person on a trail bike and one other hiker.
As you can see from the pictures, it has lots of old-growth trees, mosses, and ferns. We also enjoyed the refreshing forest air and the sounds of birds. According to my Merlin birding app, we heard a Hammond’s Flycatcher, a Townsend’s Warbler, a Yellow-rumped Warbler, a Brown Creeper, and a Pacific Wren.

What a delightful discovery!
It was! We had the forest to ourselves.
