Totems at Vancouver Island University

Yesterday I went to Vancouver Island University in order to attend a course through Elder College. I had never been to the university before, and I arrived much too early so that I could find my way about. As I had time to spare, I walked around the campus for a while and discovered these magnificent totems outside the Aboriginal Students’ Gathering Place.

I also enjoyed the lovely views of snow-covered mountains in Mount Benson Regional Park. At least, I think that is where they are.

  1. The totem poles are wonderful! Also nice to see the explanation of the figures. The only ones I have seen are in the Museum of Civilization in Ottawa. Also I didn’t know there was a Vancouver Island University.
