While visiting Gabriola Island today, I was enjoying a great lunch at the Ground Up Cafe with my eldest son and his family when this family of wild turkeys crossed the road just outside the window. Traffic was sparse and slow enough that all the turkeys got to the other side safely.
They are a good size for wild turkeys!
Yes, they were big guys!
Gobble gobble! Happy New Year, Anne. Hoping to see you in 2023.
Happy New Year, Nancy! It would be lovely to see you.
As animal rights supporter and vegetarian, I’m glad they’re safe.
Me too, Patrick. 🙂
That’s pretty cool to see. We have them run through our yard from time to time. It’s never that many, usually just a pair, and I think they’re kind of pretty.
We saw two other large groups of turkeys as we drove around the island. They seem to own the place.
We had them running around this neighborhood few years back!!
This was the first time I had seen them.
