Hemer Provincial Park, near Cedar, British Columbia, is one of many delightful parks in this area. Today some friends from the newcomers group introduced me to the trails here, and we enjoyed a four kilometre walk among the trees.

First we stopped by the pond where there are lots of Canada geese and a great blue heron. Apparently, there were once swans here, but they haven’t been seen recently.

Then we walked by Holden Lake.

It was a perfect way to spend an early autumn morning.
Oh, the majesty of the forest! You capture it beautifully. I may have just audibly sighed, imagining myself on your hike.
Thank you. The forests here are magnificent.
What a treat. The farthest north I have been is northern Minnesota by the headwaters of the Mississippi. The height of the trees was magical for me.
