After several days of bitterly cold weather, today was a balmy 4 C (39F). The sun was shining, the sky was blue, and the North Saskatchewan River was white. It was a perfect day for a walk, and I took lots of pictures. Here are some of them.
Yes, the river is frozen. 4C felt balmy because it had been -16C two days before! If you look at the last picture of the river you can see where the ice has heaved and broken up. The ice looks to be at least three inches thick.

Is the river frozen? I love the photos. It seems funny to think your 4C is balmy, it was 8C here in Yorkshire, UK, which was balmy to us!
