I recently saw this tree covered with knitting on First Street in San Jose, outside the Museum of Quilts and Textiles. I have no idea who did this or why, but the tree is quite delightful. The design is made up of scary monster-type faces.
It reminded me of some similar trees that I saw in Eidfjord, Hordaland, Norway in 2017. These include one with birds all over it, one made up of symbols, one using traditional sweater patterns, and one of a woman holding an umbrella. It’s heartwarming to know that there are people who want to put jackets on trees for no apparent reason.
I don’t understand it, but I like it.
lady with the umbrella is quite wonderful. This is a concept that I had not heard before – thanks for the pics 🙂
Isn’t she lovely? I’m glad you like the photos.
How fun!
I agree!
Love it!
