There are three types of oak tree in Guadalupe Oak Grove Park, and one of them is evergreen! This is a lovely neighbourhood park which attracts dog walkers and people like Jamie and myself looking for a nice short walk before it rains.
The three types of oak are Valley Oak, Blue Oak, and Coast Live Oak. The Valley Oak has leaves similar to the oak trees I remember from my childhood in England. In fact, I didn’t know there was any other kind. So, not only did we enjoy a nice walk today, we also learned something.
We saw several woodpeckers and lots of different song birds, but none of them sat still long enough to have their picture taken.

How about that, you go for a walk and we all get smarter.
Haha! I know, right?
Smashing collection. And I learned something about oak trees. My first two 35 mm cameras were Olympus’. the Olympus Trip and the OM10
I forgot to take out the Olympus caption! I wish it didn’t show up automatically, but otherwise I really like the pictures I get with my E-M10.
Love the photos!
Thanks Sally. It’s a lovely little park
