You may have been wondering why there have been no new posts on this blog for a few weeks. If so, I thank you for noticing! The reason is that I had a bad fall resulting in a broken wrist and fractured pelvis. I call it a fall but, in fact, it was a jump from a low wall while wearing flipflops.
This happened while I was in California and I now have many stories to tell about emergency services, hospitals, being flown back to Canada, travel insurance, two orthopaedic casts, surgery, and a wonderful family that leapt into action on my behalf. But typing with one hand is tedious so I will save all that until a later date.
In the meantime, here are a few photos related to the saga.
I’m so sorry to hear this, Anne. What an awful experience! I hope you are starting to feel better and get around normally. As an aside, I never wear flip flops or slip-on slippers. Living alone, I’m always afraid of falling down stairs and injuring myself with no one around to help.
That is smart, Barb!
Oh Anne this is Sue I am so sorry to hear this I hope you are mended or mending Hugs coffee and I were just mentioning your organizing skills
Thanks Sue. I am mending slowly, Itching to be able to organize again!
Quite a story. I too am very pleased that I get so much support from my family.
We are very fortunate, aren’t we!
Yikes. I have had a broken wrist. That is bad enough but your hip too….ouch. Seeing the scene it is easy to envision what happened. No shortcuts. Take care and I’m so glad you are mending well.
Thanks, dweezer19. Slowly but surely, I am getting better.
Thanks for your concern dweezer19. Yes, I’m on the mend, although a bit imptient!
Omg! Yikes!, are you in Canada now? I’m so sorry this happened! If you’re in Ca, I can help….but probably won’t go to Canada…..when did it happen? Keep us posted! Heal well & quickly
Thanks Joan. Yes I am back in Canada. My insurance would not cover surgery or rehab. It happened on Apr 25. My pelvis is much better. Wrist will take longer.
So sorry to hear this Anne. Hope you are on the mend.
Oh, Anne! Sorry to read about your accident. Are you able to get out and about a bit? Can you walk? I know you are strong and resilient and hope that you are not feeling discouraged. Hugs to you.
Thanks Bea. I have had a setback by trying to do too much too soon, so I am still dependant on a walker and wheelchair. But I am definitely on the mend. Watching lots of movies on TV. 🙂
Anne I don’t have your e-mail can you send me a quick note so I can save it in my contacts thanks
