I have been sick this weekend. Nothing serious. Just a cold that came with a bad headache, a sore throat, and a need to sleep all day. I managed to stay awake for a few hours yesterday evening, but then I went back to bed again. I slept for a long time, but not a good time. Tossing and turning caused my sheets to rumple and my covers to slide off and so, of course, I was reminded of this song by Gilbert and Sullivan. (The lyrics are here.)
It is supposed to be a song about unrequited love, but I think it’s about having a cold or the flu. Either way, it’s a great song.
This Canadian Thanksgiving I am thankful that last night is over and that I know I’ll feel better in a day or two. I’m also thankful for Gilbert and Sullivan whose clever songs are still great fun. Mostly, I am thankful that I grew up with music in the house. That is a gift that keeps on giving.

Feel better 🙂
Thanks, Heather.
Ha! Thanks for sharing that song…I do not remember ever hearing it. Glad you’re on the mend and I hope you recover completely and soon!
I’m fine thanks. Having another lazy day today, but the worst of the cold is over. That song is supposedly the most difficult song to sing in the English language.
