These beautiful tree-lined streets are in my new neighbourhood in Edmonton. I love how the trees arch over the roads and create a living canopy. Some of these trees are Siberian Elm, and are probably over 100 years old since the area was developed in the early 1900’s.
Edit: I was wrong about the neighbourhood boundaries. These pictures are actually taken in Parkdale, not Norwood. (Thanks, Julie!)
Beautiful tree-lined streets. I grew up in an area like that in Pennsylvania. Enjoy!

It is lovely. I’m sure you miss those Pennsylvania trees, Mary Beth.
Oh, how I envy you. It reminds me of some of the small towns north of us, many of which were created during the “Gold Rush”.
The thing that caught my eye is the fact that cars are parked on only one side of the street! Alright, alright, alright! Good for
Edmonton.
Yes, it’s necessary on these narrow streets to park on one side only. Also, people seem to drive very slowly around these residential neighbourhoods, so it’s pleasant to walk around.
Norwood is a suburb of Croydon – not far from here. I visit whenever I go to see Crystal Palace play. I’m struck by how neglected the streets and house are. Lots of litter and unkempt gardens. They could be so much better. I don’t know why. Norwood Edmonton looks a much more attractive place.
There are some houses that have not aged well in this area, too, but most of the homes are cared for. The trees definitely help an old neighbourhood look good!
It looks so serene, thank you for sharing!
You are welcome, Sally!
